Coaching Bio
Coach Hood is in his fifth year of coaching cross country for the Hornets. He started coaching as an assistant, and this is his fourth year as head coach.
Coach Hood competed as a cross country athlete prior to high school in state, region, and national level competition. He took a break from competition in high school, and only competed for one year while he pursued his aviation interests earning his private pilot certificate prior to graduating.
Coach Hood went on to continue his aviation passion in college earning additional ratings and experience while obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree in Aviation and a minor in computer science at Middle Tennessee State University.
Coach Hood met his wife MaryBeth in Colorado where they lived for 12 years prior to moving to Wellsboro. Together, the Hoods have four children (Hannah, Joshua, Sarah, and John). Coach Hood continues to enjoy working for Oracle Corporation as a telecommuting computer engineer.
