Coaching Bio
Coach Slichter is in his fifth year of coaching boys and girls cross country at Wellsboro. During his years of coaching cross country and track, Coach Slichter has former athletes competing at the United States Naval Academy, Indiana State University, Shippensberg University, UMBC, Towson State University, St. Mary's College, and St. Michael's College.
In addition to his cross country accomplishments, Coach Slichter has been named Baltimore Sun Wrestling Coach of the Year (2000), Maryland All-Star Wrestling Classic Coach (1991, 2000), was crowned Maryland State Wrestling Team Champions (2000, 2002), and coached 5 individual Maryland State Wrestling Champions.
Coach Slichter moved to Wellsboro after retiring from 33 years of teaching in Maryland. Coach Slichter and his wife Margo, who recently retired from the U.S. Department of Defense after 33 years of service, have two kids, Mike and Amy who both live in Maryland.
