Coaching Bio
Coach Zuchowski is in his first year as the Middle School cross country head coach. Coach Zuchowski began his coaching career in the football program at Rock L. Butler Middle School while attending Mansfield University. He soon joined the varsity staff under then-head coach Russ Manney, where he coached quarterbacks and defensive backs, before landing a teaching job in Leonardtown, Maryland.
As an English teacher at Leonardtown, Coach Zuchowski was the head boys track coach and worked as an assistant football coach. He was named the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Boys Track Coach of the Year in 1998.
After two years at Leonardtown, Coach Zuchowski took a job as an English teacher and athletic director at a junior/senior high school in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania. While serving as athletic director, he also took on several coaching responsibilities. These included head boys and girls track coach and assistant football coach. After resigning from the athletic director position, Zuchowski coached golf and softball during his remaining years in Johnsonburg.
Coach Zuchowski returned to Wellsboro in 2006 and immediately took on coaching roles in the track and football programs. Over the past seven years, the girls’ track team has amassed an overall record of 64-8, including three league championships. Zuchowski currently works in the middle school as a reading teacher for 7th and 8th grades. He resides in Wellsboro with his wife, Pam, and their daughter, Audrey.
