Kosek, Macias Named To NTL XC All-Star Team

Freshman Lauren Kosek and sophomore Max Macias were named to the NTL All-Star team on Tuesday, October 17.

Kosek was a 1st team selection and Macias was a 2nd team pick.

Kosek recorded six 1st place finishes during her freshman season, a 2nd place at the NTL Coaches Invite this past weekend, and also an 8th place finish at the McQuaid Invite, where she ran her season-best time of 18:53.

"Lauren has been working hard all season trying to chip away at the clock and beat some personal records," said head coach Eric Kosek. "She has gained confidence in her freshman year by seeing the results of hard work. She is very excited for districts in hopes of running fast enough to head to Hershey for states."

Macias won races at Troy and against South Williamsport and added four more top-5 finishes. He placed 12th at the NTL Coaches Invite and was 80th at McQuaid, where he also ran his season-best time of 17:49.

"Max has seen huge gains in his running during this, his sophomore year of XC," added Kosek. "He has achieved a PR in the 5K distance and works hard daily to keep improving. He has his eyes set on getting stronger in the off-season and coming back faster and smarter next year."
