Wellsboro tops Athens, Cowanesque, and Northeast Bradford to sweep their home race. This match up of teams had the makings of some very good races. Northeast Bradford came to Wellsboro with two of the top male runners in the state (Curt Jewett, Sam Williams). Wellsboro countered with its own top 2 - Jordan Jackson and Bob Owlett.
In the race these four runners performed as expected with Jewett and Williams placing first and second and Jackson and Owlett placing third and fourth. The race would be decided by runners 3, 4, 5, & 6 for Wellsboro. Bobby Hill finished before Northeast’s third runner and Garrett Webster finished before Northeast’s fourth runner. The deciding factor was Joey Doganiero and Derek Morgan both finishing before Northeast’s fifth runner. The overall team score was 28 - 28.
Wellsboro got the win on the tie breaker of their 6th runner finishing before Northeast’s 6th runner. With the win, the Wellsboro boys now have an NTL record of 4-1.
