Wellsboro Girls split NTL Meet
By: Ed Weaver / October 12, 2011
The Wellsboro girls needed to sweep the meet with Wyalusing and Towanda to come away with a share of the NTL championship this year. Unfortunately, Wyalusing and Towanda were looking to do the same thing as the teams entered the meet in a four-way tie for first place. Wyalusing was the team that managed the sweep and a share of the NTL crown.
Wellsboro lost to Wyalusing by the score of 27-28 and beat Towanda 28-31. Charlotte Worthington led the way for the girls in a time of 23:23. Randi Grim (24:05), Annie Sweeney (25:06), Baylee Mann (27:12) and Denae Ingerick (27:26) rounded out the top five for Wellsboro. The girls end the regular season with an NTL record of 7-2 with an overall record of 10-2.
