Wellsboro XC Teams Split With Athens

Wellsboro's Cross Country teams split races with Athens on Tuesday afternoon. The Hornets won 21-35 while the Lady Hornets fell, 25-35.
For the boys, seniors Max Macias (17:39) and Henry Whitney (17:50) took home the top two spots, while freshman Taitt Webster turned in a season-best performance with a 5th place finish (21:15).
Senior Ethan Geneski (21:38) was 6th, senior Henry Nowak (22:03) came home 7th, sophomore Jack Hammerton (23:41) was 10th, freshman Jacob Patterson (24:10) finished 11th, freshman Jesse Spicer (24:11) was 13th, and freshman Austin DeShazo (26:51) rounded out the field in 15th.
Junior Lauren Kosek won the girls race in 20:11 while sister Kaci Kosek (23:16) finished 3rd. Senior Sophia Yoder (26:34) was 7th, sophomore Luisa Crocco (29:39) finished 11th, and sophomore Anja Przybycien (31:34) was 13th.
In the Junior High Boys race the Hornets won 22-33. William Rudy (11:42), Wiley Sargent (11:49), and Lucas Crowl (12:04) finished 2nd-4th while Jeff Rawson (12:55) and Emmett Tice (13:17) were 6th and 7th.
Athens took the Junior High Girls race with a score of 10-26. Summer Boder (14:23), Brianna O'Shea Losinger (15:46) and Serenity Harrison (17:05) finished 5th-7th.
The teams travel to Sullivan County for a tri-meet with Canton next Tuesday.
