Lady Hornets Split With Canton, Sullivan County, Boys Drop Both Meets

Wellsboro's Cross Country teams took part in a tri-meet with Canton and Sullivan County on Tuesday afternoon, with the Lady Hornets picking up a split and the boys falling in both.

On the girls side Wellsboro beat Canton 15-50 and fell 20-35 to Sullivan County. Sullivan County also beat Canton, 15-50.

In the boys race Sullivan County defeated Wellsboro 15-40 and Canton, 19-36. Canton edged out the Hornets, 28-32.

For the girls, senior Lauren Kosek kept her regular season undefeated streak going with a 1st place finish in 21:00. Junior Molly Tice took 8th (24:40), junior Luisa Crocco (27:20) clocked in 11th, freshman Brianna O'Shea Losinger was 12th (27:46) and junior Anja Przybycien (31:22) finished 14th.

On the boys side, freshman William Rudy (19:53) took 8th, sophomore Taitt Webster (20:09) came home 10th, freshman Lucas Crowl (20:48) was 12th followed by sophomore Jesse Spicer (20:51) in 13th. Sophomore Jacob Patterson (22:25) clocked in 17th, freshman Justin Dunlap (28:29) finished 20th and freshman Aaron Salevsky (28:31) rounded out the field in 21st.

In the Junior High races the young Lady Hornets defeated both Canton and Sullivan, 15-50 while the boys split. Wellsboro edged Canton 15-21 and fell to Sullivan County, 25-39.

In the girls race Wellsboro captured the top five places with Kendall DeShazo (12:56), Amelia Pollaro (13:25), Summer Boder (13:38), Serenity Harrison (14:58) and Avral DeShazo (15:25) finishing in order. Trinity Angus finished 7th in 16:39.

For the boys, Declan Borzok (10:39) and Wiley Sargent (10:49) took the top two spots while Emmett Tice (13:05) took 13th and Devin Shaw (21:08) finished 15th.

Both teams are back in action next Tuesday, September 22, against Athens.
